Sosandar delivers ‘record’ Christmas sales

Sosandar enjoyed its best-ever Christmas trading period after sales jumped 23% over the golden quarter.

Revenues for the fashion retailer increased from £11.6m to £14.3m in the three months to 31 December, which it attributed to a “strong performance” in October and November continuing into December as well as a planned reduction in some promotional activity.

The business saw “extremely strong sales across all categories with party wear, dresses, tailoring, knitwear and smart trousers being standout items” in the run up to Christmas.

Looking ahead, Sosandar said it plans to open its first standalone store in the UK this Spring as it continues to drive sales through its own site and app.

It added that it will also strengthen its relationships with third-party partners – which includes Sainsbury’s and M&S – and ramp up its international expansion following successful launches in Australia and Canada.

Sosandar now expects to close the financial year 31 March 2024 with a revenue of £46.8m and profit before tax of £100,000.
