Tapi Carpets CEO exits after four years

Tapi Carpets chief executive James Sturrock has stepped down from his role after four years.

Sturrock, who was previously the boss of Eve Sleep, has taken on a new position as CEO of raw pet food provider Bella & Duke this month.

Tapi told Retail Gazette it is not seeking to hire a replacement for Sturrock.

Jeevan Kirar, a former Carpetright finance director, has been managing director of the retailer since August last year.

Martin Harris, the carpet chain’s founder, currently serves as vice chair of the company.

Harris, the son of Carpetright founder Lord Harris and ex-director at the firm, set up rival Tapi in 2015, a year after his father sold his chain.

Lord Harris is an investor and adviser in Tapi, which has now grown to more than 150 stores.
