Tesco has brought forward its Christmas delivery slots by a week for 2024.
The UK’s biggest supermarket is adding 60 extra vans to deal with demand, and claimed there would be “thousands of extra slots across the UK” offered to shoppers during the two weeks before the big day.
Customers signed up to Tesco’s anytime delivery saver or click-and-collect plan can book their delivery slots at 6am from 5 November.
For all other shoppers, slots open up from 13 November at 6am.
Customers have until 4 November to sign up to the service and make use of the priority Christmas booking.
The grocer has also upped the capacity of its Whoosh service, making thousands of additional delivery slots available on Christmas Eve so they can “shop for last-minute essentials or forgotten items for the all-important Christmas Day feast”.
Tesco online managing director Tom Denyard said: “We’re looking forward to helping customers across the UK pick up their family favourites or treat themselves to something special this festive season.
“As we help customers plan ahead for their Christmas shop this year, we are excited to be providing increased capacity with thousands of extra slots available in the fortnight leading up to Christmas Day.”
