Ocado Group has named Nick de la Vega as its new chief revenue officer, effective 19 November.
De la Vega joins the group from the global IT and consulting business, Atos, where he served as senior vice president and head of global sales.
He previously held roles at IT services Hewlett Packard and Electronic Data Systems.
In this new role, de la Vega will lead sales and account management across Ocado’s grocery and non-grocery businesses, ensuring commercial operations are optimised for its next phase of growth, said the business.
He will also be responsible for supporting and developing relationships with Ocado’s partners.
The appointment comes as the company, which reported profit growth in July, announces the retirement of CEO of Ocado Intelligent Automation Mark Richardson, who will depart in 2026 after 25 years at the business.
Ocado Group CEO Tim Steiner said: “We are delighted to welcome Nick to the business at an important moment in Ocado’s evolution.
“He will play a critical role in taking the Ocado offer to a broader range of customers, as well as developing and strengthening our relationship with existing partners.”
He continued: “It has been almost eight years since we started to bring Ocado’s technology to international grocery retailers.
“Over that time, we have invested significantly in our technology. We will now bring the benefits of this investment back to some of the world’s most exciting grocery markets, with a wider fulfilment toolkit, greater flexibility and new commercial leadership.”
