Evri is taking on 2,500 new UK staff members as it pushes ahead with its expansion.
The courier service is carrying out the recruitment drive as demand for parcels continues to rise. The move comes after Evri merged with DHL’s UK ecommerce business earlier in the year, to form a new delivery giant that handled more than a billion parcels and letters per year.
The firm has also acquired other companies including UK Mail and Coll-8 throughout the last year.
Evri said its recruitment drive followed a hike in parcel volumes, which increased by 12% from the year before to 425m during the half year to 30 August.
Martijn de Lange, Evri Group CEO, said: “We continue to deliver phenomenal growth at Evri, and none more so than within our hard-working courier network, who are truly the backbone of our business.
“At a time when many companies are reducing headcount and unemployment is growing, we’re proud to be creating thousands of opportunities and leading the way with initiatives like Evri Plus.”

Let’s hope the new drivers get the address right & items arrive in 1 piece.
My Amazon return via Evri is lost in the system. I am waiting for a £54 refund. Online chat person very unhelpful. Not happy.
My local service is appalling, I get parcels dumped in the open far from the delivery address. They need to recruit drivers that understand the meaning of delivery and have a care for what they are doing. Seems to be a national problem. Those in charge need to get out and see what is happening on the ground but presumably it doesn’t affect their over inflated renumeration.
