Marks & Spencer has expanded its partnership with Zalando’s B2B logistics and fulfilment business, ZEOS, as it aims to bolster its direct-to-consumer arm.
The high street retailer’s rollout follows a successful trial in Poland, where it saw customer demand rise by 22 per cent in the first week, and conversion increase by more than 97 per cent.
The partnership will now allow M&S to fulfil its entire direct-to-consumer online operation across 22 continental European markets, including France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.
M&S says the move will help it scale its international online business while reducing logistics costs by up to half.
Using ZEOS’ fulfilment network and shared stock pool, delivery costs have fallen by up to 58 per cent, while returns processing times have been reduced from as much as 35 days to eight days.
“We have a clear ambition to grow our International business by bringing the best of M&S to more customers around the world,” said M&S International managing director Mark Lemming.
“As demand for our Fashion products grow across Europe, it’s vital that we offer a seamless online shopping experience that matches the quality of our product.
“By partnering with ZEOS, we’re able to improve speed, availability and service for customers, while creating a more efficient and scalable platform to support our future growth in Europe.”
