As a ‘thank you’ to its 18,000 colleagues, Poundland is handing out £25 vouchers to spend in store between December and January and increasing their regular colleague discount from 10% to 20% this month.

In addition to Christmas Day, Poundland confirmed that for the third year in a row all its stores will be closed on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day to “give colleagues a well-deserved break”.

Poundland & Dealz people director, Simon Wells said: “The extra recruits will help us make sure that our stores are great places to work and shop at the busiest time of year.”

Sooo generous. A Massive £25 to the staff that will earn the company over £750,000,000 this year.

18,000 staff, £25 each. £450,000. About 0.006% of their profit
