Ex-Celebrations Group Chief Milton Guffogg has been promoted to CEO of restructuring firm GA Europe as the company expands across the continent.
Guffogg, who was previously chief operating officer, has led the debt purchase and restructuring of distressed firms TJ Hughes, Ethel Austin and Suits You since 2010.
He has held senior operational roles at a string of other UK retail companies such as K Shoes, Burton Group, Woolworths and Courts.
“I am personally very excited to be picking up the baton at this critical stage in GA Europe‘s development and look forward to continuing to evolve our creative approach to solving distressed situations,” he said.
Guffogg has worked on solvent restructurings for retailers Comet, Jessops, Blockbuster Italia, Game Group, Dreams, Jane Norman, and Bonmarché.
“We are excited to have Milton lead GA Europe into the next phase of our development. His extensive leadership experience will help GA Europe as it continues its expansion efforts,” said Andrew Gumaer, CEO of GA Europe‘s parent company, Great American Group.
The number of retailers going into administration during 2013 fell by 6 per cent compared to 2012.
