Menswear retail start-up The Chapar secures £1.3m investment

Online menswear styling service The Chapar has successfully raised £1.3 million after listing on CrowdCube.

The company works on the premise that “frankly, men don‘t like to shop” and sends handpicked clothes to customers’ doors following a 10-minute consultation.

The capital raised exceeded its £1 million target and it plans to spend it on marketing both online and offline in a bid to expand its 145,000-strong customer base.

Last year the start-up posted £2.8 million in revenues, with ambitions to hit £5.4 million next year.

It stocks 60 top menswear brands including Ralph Lauren, Barbour and Levis, and offers customers the choice to return goods if they don‘t like the choice.
