Reports have emerged that retail tycoon Philip Day is considering a bid for womenswear chains Warehouse, Oasis and Coast.

According to The Sunday Times, the owner of Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group (EWM), which includes retail chains Peacocks, Jane Norman and Edinburgh Woollen Mill itself, is reportedly looking to expand his empire.

If true, it would become Day’s latest acquisition in less than a year, after recently buying out retailers Austin Reed and Jaeger from the brink of collapse.
