Westfield partners with Uber

Westfield has become the first UK retail outfit to partner with Uber, in a deal aimed at streamlining the taxi service to and from Westfield‘s two London shopping centres.

Specific pickup and drop-off points have been established at Westfield London and Stratford City. All services including Uber X, XL, LUX and EXEC will be available to shoppers.

The premium services offered by Uber will be available from Westfield‘s valet service locations.

Customers can  use the Uber app instore as usual, then follow newly-installed signage to one of the centre‘s Uber areas.

“Westfield is proud to be the first shopping centre to partner with Uber to deliver an enhanced service for our customers,” Westfield operations  director Paul Buttigieg said.

“This new service is an example of Westfield bringing together physical and technological solutions which are focussed on delivering a real benefit to our customers.”

Uber‘s regional general manager Jo Bertram added: “Uber helps millions of people in London get a convenient, safe and affordable ride at the touch of a button.

“Our partnership with Westfield goes one step further, making the process even more seamless and easy to use.

“We understand that it can sometimes be tricky for drivers and riders to locate each other in a big venue and we are excited to see the impact of our new Uber zones on shoppers.”
