Missguided hires Thomas Pink operating chief Steve Price

Thomas Pink’s chief operating officer Steve Price has started a new role as commercial director for bricks-and-clicks retailer Missguided.

Price, who also used to be the joint managing director of Karen Millen, began his stint at Missguided this week after a year with Thomas Pink.

Prior to Thomas Pink, Price spent a year at JD Sports and five as managing director of Karen Millen  —  a role that he shared with Gemma Metheringham, who is now the creative director of Next‘s Label brand.

The news comes the same week it was revealed that  Shop Direct‘s former deputy chief executive Gareth Jones would now take on the role of chief executive of online at Missguided.

Missguided is reportedly on a hiring spree as part of efforts to meet its ambitious growth targets.

In the past year, the traditionally online-only retailer branched out to physical retail with the opening of two stores in Westfield Stratford in east London and Bluewater shopping centre in Kent.

It has ambitions to open more stores around the UK, and it is slated to launch Mennace, a brand new menswear brand on a separate standalone ecommerce site this month.

The rapidly-growing retailer is also exploring options of a sale or float.

In May, Missguided recorded a massive 75 per cent spike in revenues in its full-year report but did not disclose its profits.
