Inglot opens first UK store outside London

Polish cosmetics brand Inglot has secured its first UK store outside of London at a major shopping centre in Newcastle.

The retailer has agreed a 10-year lease for a 1000sq ft store in Intu Eldon Square.

The deal forms part of the retailer’s UK expansion drive, beginning with a focus on prime cities in the north of England.

Established in 1983, Inglot now has more than 680 stores and kiosks in high street and shopping centre locations across 80 countries.

It currently operates three stores in London, plus 16 in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

“We are delighted to be expanding our UK offering into the north of England and Intu Eldon Square‘s dynamic city-centre location with sparkling nightlife and thriving student population makes it the perfect way to introduce our brand to the area,” Inglot director Jane Swarbrigg said.

Meanwhile, Australian accessories brand Lovisa, which has 12 stores in the UK, has also signed up at Intu Eldon Square.

It will take a 900sq ft unit as part of its expansion plans.

It has recently opened at Intu Lakeside in Essex and Intu Chapefield in Norwich.

Kate Grant, regional managing director at Intu, said: “We‘re supporting Lovisa and Inglot‘s ambitious UK expansion strategies with prime retail space at one of the country‘s biggest and busiest city centre shopping destinations.

“This will give them the opportunity to attract shoppers from Newcastle and across the north east for the first time.”
