Asos begins “try before you buy” service

Asos has introduced a brand new a “try before you buy” service, giving customers the opportunity to have products delivered before they pay for them.

Powered by Klarna Pay Later, the service allows UK app customers to try any of Asos’ 85,000 products at home and only pay for what they want to keep within 30 days of the order being dispatched.

Customers also have to return unwanted items within the same 30-day window.

No interest or fees are added on the service, either.

The online retail giant has already implemented the try before you buy service in its German, Austrian, Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian markets.

“We are constantly looking for new ways to improve the Asos experience for our 15.4 million customers around the world,” Asos global trading director Nicola Thompson said.

“We know people love the option of paying later only for the things they keep, and are excited to introduce this for customers shopping on our app in the UK.”

To be eligible to use the service, customers must be over 18 and have a mobile phone number, email address and UK residential address.

The news comes less than a month after Asos launched same-day deliveries.
