Adidas sales chief Michael Stainer to become Charles Tyrwhitt CEO

Charles Tyrwhitt has reportedly poached Adidas’ chief sales officer Michael Stanier to be its new chief executive.

Stanier would replace former David Boynton, who stepped down in December to take helm of The Body Shop.

According to Drapers, Stanier is poised to start at Charles Tyrwhitt on March 5.

The Retail Gazette has contacted both the upmarket menswear retailer and Stanier himself for further comment.

Stanier has been with Adidas for almost seven years, having started there in 2009 as head retail officer before moving into his current role as sales chief.

Prior to that, he worked at Gap for two years, first as vice president and managing director of its UK retail and European franchise operations and then vice president of its global franchise operations.

He also previously held various roles senior roles with Marks & Spencer for several years before moving to Timberland in 2003 to work as its European retail director for four years.
