The North Face names new EMEA boss

VF Corporation has named Jan Van Leeuwen as new vice president and general manager of EMEA operations for its The North Face fascia.

Van Leeuwen arrives from sister brand Vans, where he served in the same position, after holding senior leadership roles at Sole Technology, O’Neill and Nike.

“During his tenure with VF, Jan has demonstrated strong leadership and an ability to develop a thriving business,” VF Corp EMEA group president Martino Scabbia Guerrini said.

“His extensive experience in the retail industry combined with his proven track record of business results make him the ideal person to lead our iconic The North Face brand in the EMEA region.”

The appointment comes just a few weeks after VF Corp sold its Reef surfwear brand to US fashion house The Rockport Group.

The sale represents VF Corp’s strategy to reshape its portfolio, in a move the company described as a commitment for developing sustainable, long-term growth within its brand stable.
