Jack Wills has partnered with independent coffee house and bar operator Bear that will see the latter open its first London site at the fashion retailer’s Carnaby Street flagship.

The coffee shop-in-a-store is set to open in spring and will create up to 10 new jobs.

The collaboration first came to fruition after Jack Wills global property director Neil Beaman was reportedly impressed by Bear after he paid a visit to its Derby site in early 2018.

The partnership is also part of Jack Wills’ ambitions to create a fresh customer experience to help it meet the changes in shopping habits and the evolving high street.

Meanwhile, Bear currently operates three stores in Derby, Stone and Uttoxeter and has ambitions to double in size year-on-year, with plans to open up to 30 sites in major cities and market towns over the next five years.

“We’re really excited to be launching our first London store in partnership with Jack Wills,” Bear co-founder Craig Bunting said.

“There is a clear correlation between Bear and Jack Wills in terms of style and vision, and the diverse customer range that Jack Wills attracts reflects our own audience.

“We believe that our brands align perfectly – creating memorable in-store experiences lies at the heart of our collective core values.”

Various other retailers have partnered up with coffee chains to open up cafe concessions within their stores in a bid to attract more footfall and offer more for customers.
