Toast to launch in-store clothes-swap next month

// Toast announces new clothes-swap initiative
// The scheme will be trialled in the retailer’s Edinburgh, Bath and Westbourne Grove stores

Toast has announced it is launching an in-store clothes-swap initiative next month to help customers “celebrate” a more circular community.

The womenswear, loungewear and homeware retailer designed the “Toast Circle” to encourage mindful consumption and invite customers to donate up to five items of “high-quality” clothing.

Customers can then trade them for other items donated to their local Toast shop.

The clothing items will each have a tag which explains its history, how it’s been worn and its value.

The scheme will be trialled in the retailer’s Edinburgh, Bath and Westbourne Grove stores.

Toast aims to roll out the initiative to all stores in 2020.
