Luxury e-tailer Xupes opens first UK retail store

// Xupes is expanding its business by opening the first UK retail store
// The expansion is due to heavy customer demand for a physical store

Xupes will open the doors to its first retail store in the UK by London’s Royal Exchange this month.

The store will be located in the City of London adjacent to Hermès and Louis Vuitton, and will focus on retailing Xupes’s pre-owned collection of watches, handbags, jewellery and artwork.

The store will also house stock from brands such as Rolex and Chanel.

Alongside their sale collection, Xupes also purchases pre-loved items directly from customers to sell on their behalf and offer an exchange service encouraging customers to recycle their items and reduce waste.

“The aim is to create an interactive and immersive customer experience which showcases our online origins and encourages clients to transition from the world of digital to real-time whilst encapsulating our personal, unique service” Xupes co-founder Joseph McKenzie said.

Ecommerce has been the focus for the family owned business until recently.

Over 50 per cent of customers visited Xupes’ Hertfordshire based showroom before purchasing.

Xupes’s first UK store follows closely from its recent retail expansion into the Dutch market.

“Once customers have found us online, and then visit us in person they really understand what we are trying to achieve,” McKenzie said.

“We are extremely excited to be launching our first retail space in the UK in such a prominent location and amongst some of the world’s most exclusive brands, which we actually stock ourselves”
