Allbirds continues to invest in physical retail with second UK store

// Allbirds to open its second UK store in Marylebone this month
// The new store will be the retailer’s 17th store

Allbirds is set to open the doors to its second bricks-and-mortar store in the UK later this month.

Located on 46 Marylebone High Street, the store will open on February 20 – just a year after opening its first London space in Covent Garden, which has already welcomed over 150,000 visitors.

Taking inspiration from its nearby surroundings the store design will have a Regent’s Park theme.

Set to double the global retail footprint in 2020, Marylebone will be Allbirds’s 17th store, following its latest opening in Tokyo.

Allbirds continues to invest in physical retail as over 80 per cent of shoe sales are still conducted in-store.

The retailer also believes there’s still strong consumer demand for a physical retail experience.

The store will educate its customers on the different benefits and properties of the shoes and socks, offering a tactile experience customers can touch, feel and engage in-person with the Merino wool, eucalyptus tree fibre and sugarcane that the products are made of.

Its shoeboxes are also made from 90 per cent post-consumer recycled cardboard, and receipts are digital to save on paper and the store itself is carbon neutral.
