Studio has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Rupert Nichols as its trading director.

Nichols joins the online retailer after a stint as group buying director for Dixons Carphone and previously with DSGi and Sainsburys.

In his new role at Studio, Nichols will be charged with driving new trading opportunities for the business, while continuing to develop its purchasing and supply chain strategy.

His appointment comes as the online retailer pushes on with its transformation plans, which last year included the launch of its award-winning mobile app.

“We have ambitious plans to grow and expand our business and with the current challenges across the sector, there’s a lot of work ahead,” Studio managing director Paul Kendrick said.

“Rupert’s extensive trading knowledge and experience, particularly in online retail, is a welcome addition to an already strong leadership team, which I have no doubt will help us to achieve our goals.”

Nichols said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Studio at such an exciting time in its journey.

“Thousands of customers shop with us every day, seeking great products at amazing value and I’m looking forward to supporting the business to achieve this.”
