Sosandar sales rise thanks to M&S and John Lewis partnerships

Sosandar has seen its sales rise as it steps up its third-party collaborations and introduces an early autumn/winter collection.

The fashion retailer said sales rose 184 per cent year on year in the six months to September 30 – more than what was generated in the full year previously.

While Sosandar still registered an EBITDA loss, its results improved as it reported a record month of sales in September when demand for its new-season ranges soared.

Sosandar also stepped up its partnership with third-party platforms during the period, including Next, Marks & Spencer and John Lewis, increasing inventory levels during September.

The retailer made the decision to bring in early stock for autumn/winter – a tactic that has proven successful, with sales of sequined items, Christmas jumpers and faux fur coats already flying.

“We are delighted to report another strong period for Sosandar, with enhanced sales delivered across our entire product range as customers begin to return to the office and attend events,” Sosandar co-chief executives Julie Lavington and Ali Hall said.

“After over a year in loungewear, our customers are clearly enjoying a return to fashion.

“With a substantial increase delivered in active customers, repeat customers and conversion rate, we can see the benefits of our marketing strategy, broadened range and operational improvements flowing through.

“Our sales continue to see great growth momentum, both on the Sosandar website and with our third-party partners, and we are very excited about the opportunity that lies ahead for the company.”
