// Lululemon has appointed Yoox Net-a-Porter’s president of luxury and fashion Alison Loehnis to its board
// Loehnis has been instrumental in Net-a-Porter’s growth since she joined the online retailer in 2007 and will help inform Lululemon’s international growth strategy
Lululemon has hired Net-a-Porter boss Alison Loehnis to sit on its board of directors.
Loehnis, who is president of luxury and fashion at Yoox Net-a-Porter, leads the Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter and The Outnet businesses and has been instrumental in the online group’s growth since she joined in 2007.
She joins Lululemon immediately and her experience will help inform the sportswear firm’s global expansion.
Loehnis’ appointment comes as the activewear firm was hit by the rise of the Omicron variant, which it revealed earlier this month had hindered its fourth quarter sales.
Lululemon warned that its sales for the golden quarter would be “toward the low end” of its $2.125 billion to $2.165 billion range which caused its share price to tumble.
Lululemon chairman Glenn Murphy said: “Alison Loehnis is a dynamic leader with a remarkable track record of consistently driving growth through her knowledge of consumer and product trends.
“We look forward to benefiting from Alison’s valuable insights and expertise as lululemon continues to grow around the world.”
Loehnis added: “I have been a loyal Lululemon customer for a long time and have always admired their ability to drive product innovation that combines both performance and style. I am excited to join the board of directors and support the organisation as it continues to expand globally while building connected communities across different platforms.”
Loehnis has previously held positions at LVMH, Hachette Filipacchi, The Walt Disney Company after starting her career in advertising at Saatchi & Saatchi.
