Secret Sales co-founder Nish Kukadia has taken a role as ventures portfolio director at Holland & Barrett.

Kukadia, who founded Secret Sales with brother Sach, will be tasked with leading the initiation, prototyping, incubating and scaling of new wellness solutions to create new revenue opportunities for Holland & Barrett.

The retailer has “seeded an exciting portfolio of new propositions” over the past six months. Kukadia will scale these ventures and set up more for the health and beauty giant.

Kukadia and his brother set up private sales website Secret Sales in 2007 and built it into a £50million business with more than 6 million users.

The pair exited the business in 2017 to Excalibur Group, owner of Wowcher and Living Social, although staged a management buy out a year later before selling it to current owner The Lifestyle Retail Group in 2019.

Nish’s brother Sach Kukadia launched jewellery resale business, 7879, earlier this year, which sells jewellery made from recycled gold and responsibly mined platinum of the highest purity.

The retailer allows shoppers to track the real-time value of their purchase and sell it back to 7879 when the price is right.
