Ex-Argos multi-channel director joins Card Factory board

Former Argos multi-channel director Indira Thambiah has joined the Card Factory board.

Card Factory announced the appointment of Thambiah as non-executive director with effect from 1 September 2022 and she will be appointed as a member of each of the company’s remuneration committee, audit & risk committee and nomination committee.

Thambiah is an experienced multi-channel retail executive and consultant, with previous roles including head of multi-channel for Home Retail Group (Argos & Homebase) and vice president, Europe at online sales marketplace, Zulily.

Thambiah, a qualified Chartered Accountant, has also successfully managed a number of private businesses, most recently Roof-Maker as CEO from 2018 to 2022.

She has also been an independent non-executive director and member of the remuneration committee at fashion retailer Superdry from 2010 to 2013 and Yorkshire Building Society between 2007 and 2010.

Card Factory chair Paul Moody said: “We are delighted to welcome Indira to the board of Card Factory plc.  Indira brings extensive multi-channel and retail experience, both nationally and internationally, with insights from a range of businesses which will benefit Card Factory and its board committees, as we pursue our strategic ambitions.”

Last year, Card Factory appointed former Asda chief financial officer Robert McWilliam as an independent non-executive director.
