AO names Pret A Manger global chief digital officer as non-executive director

AO World has appointed Pret A Manger global chief digital officer Sarah Venning as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

Venning is currently working at the high street chain where she is leading the company’s digital and technological transformation.

With over 20 years’ experience in digital and IT across the retail, hospitality and transport sectors, her previous roles include director-level positions for IT strategy and planning at the John Lewis Partnership and BAA.

AO chairman Geoff Cooper said: “We are delighted to welcome Sarah as a non-executive director.  Sarah’s skill set and experience in digital transformation and information technology, combined with her passion for excellent customer service will be of great benefit to the board and AO as we focus on our UK strategy. “

Last month AO chief operating officer Danny Emmett departed from the electrical retailer.

Emmett was expected to succeed chief executive John Roberts but left the business with immediate effect.
