Dreams reopens Cardiff store and warehouse after £300k investment

Dreams has reopened its Cardiff distribution centre and retail store following a £300,000 investment into refurbishing and expanding the space.

The warehouse, which now covers 31,000sq ft, can store up to 2,290 mattresses and bases with the increased capacity helping to improve product availability and lead times.

The bed retailer has also quadrupled the centre’s welfare facilities and installed electric vehicle charging points for its employees.

Dreams has also upsized its retail store to 12,500sq ft, making it the retailer’s flagship in Wales, which now includes new Dreams branding and a larger clearance section.

Chief executive Jonathan Hirst said: “At Dreams, we are always looking for ways to support our colleagues and better serve our customers.

“That’s why we have made a meaningful investment in our Cardiff distribution service centre and retail store.

“This is a significant step forward in delivering on both our growth and people-first strategies and will mean we continue building on our position as the UK’s most loved bed retailer and a leading employer.”

The retailer bolstered its leadership in June as it hired former Asos IT boss Dan West as its first chief information officer and promoted current finance director Petra Kasperova to CFO.
