Nike set to open new flagship in former Victoria’s Secret site

Nike has secured a spot for its new flagship at a former Victoria’s Secret site in Trinity Leeds shopping centre.

Speaking to Retail Week, investment company Landsec said the Nike Rise concept flagship store, measuring 10,000 sq ft, is expected to open in 2024.

The shop is intended to improve shopping experiences for consumers by using innovative digital experiences and services that “enliven the sporting pulse of the city”.

The site will feature a digitally powered “Footwear Fastlane” where footwear product information and stories will be shared with shoppers, as well as the brand’s personalisation service “Nike by You”.

Landsec head of brand account management Nik Porter said: “Guests are looking for more from their shopping experience and are seeking out concepts which combine convenience with the opportunity to try something new.

“As a result, brands are increasingly prioritising prime locations that drive footfall, enable customer service and have the ability to integrate in-store and online shopping experiences.”

He continued: “The Nike Rise concept encapsulates this and, with more international brands investing in Leeds, the new store will only enhance the city’s retail offer further.”

The news comes after Nike revealed plans to open its second UK “Rise” concept store in the Birmingham Bullring & Grand Central shopping centre earlier this year.

The opening followed the success of Rise across Asia, the US and a debut UK store in London which opened last summer.
