Harrods rolls out beauty recycling scheme to all H Beauty stores

Harrods has rolled out its in-store cosmetics recycling scheme across all its H Beauty stores following a successful trial at its Milton Keynes branch last year.

The scheme, in partnership with recycling specialist MyGroup, has now been introduced to its H Beauty locations in Bristol, Edinburgh, Lakeside and Gateshead.

Customers will be able to bring in used beauty, fragrance, and skincare products to the store to be recycled in exchange for rewards through Harrods’ MyBeauty scheme.

Specially designed bins near the registers allow beauty members to earn up to 500 bonus reward points when returning five or more eligible used items.

Items deposited through the H beauty scheme will be collected and recycled at MyGroup’s Hull facility where the company both recovers and recycles the packaging and inner cosmetic product.

Harrods director of beauty buying Mia Collins said: “Launching the recycling scheme’s second phase on a wider scale stands as a pinnacle for Harrods and H beauty, emphasising our dedication to sustainable practices.

“The scheme resonates with our customers who are passionate about embracing a more eco-conscious lifestyle.

“Upholding our promise to minimise waste and increase recycling across the business, our collaboration with MYGroup remains pivotal in propelling this mission forward.

“Together, we’re leading a transformative journey towards recycling and circularity in the beauty industry, in line with the Harrods brand commitment to responsible practices.”
