Seasalt mulls first London stores under UK expansion plans

Cornish fashion retailer Seasalt is eyeing its first standalone stores in London as part of its UK expansion.

Retail property agents have been sent a list of places where the brand is looking to launch shops, which include Richmond, Hampstead, Wimbledon, Kingston Upon Thames and Northcote road in Battersea, according to Drapers, .

The fashion retailer is also looking at central locations such as Regent Street, Covent Garden, Marylebone High Street and Chelsea’s King’s Road.

Seasalt currently has 73 stores across the UK, Ireland and New Zealand, and is seeking out new small-format stores measuring 1,200sq ft to 1,750sq ft.

A Seasalt spokesperson said: “UK growth is a key priority for Seasalt in 2024. In 2023 we opened seven new stores in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand as part of our commitment to bricks and mortar, and anticipate opening new stores in the UK, and in other countries, throughout the year ahead.

“To support this growth, we have a number of property agents looking for suitable locations across the UK. This includes London but we have no specific plan for the city at this stage. Locations will be confirmed and announced in due course.”
