Oliver Bonas is entering the retail park market for the first time, with new stores at British Land’s Glasgow Fort and Teesside Park.

The fashion and homeware brand has agreed a lease for 2,800 sq ft of retail space at Glasgow Fort, marking its first ever retail park concept.

Oliver Bonas will open at Glasgow Fort in September, followed by Teesside Park which will open later in the autumn, with the retailer taking 3,190 sq ft.

Its arrival reflects British Land’s “hands-on asset management strategy,” which is focused on “continued evolution towards a more diverse, experience-led retail mix, combining well-loved national names with distinctive independent brands to give visitors more reason to spend time at the destination”.

It comes after British Land has secured 42,290 sq ft of lettings at Teesside Park over the past 12 months.

At Glasgow Fort, its latest letting follows “a period of exceptional performance,” with the destination achieving record visitor numbers and an 8 per cent year-on-year increase in footfall in the past 12 months, marking its strongest annual performance to date.

Oliver Bonas head of retail Sevda Cankorur said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our expansion with the opening of new stores at Glasgow Fort and Teesside Park.

“These openings reflect our commitment to bringing Oliver Bonas to more communities across the UK.

“We look forward to welcoming customers through our doors and sharing our latest design-led collections, offering inspiration across fashion, homeware and gifts.”

British Land head of asset management Matthew Reed added: “Oliver Bonas is a brand with a very clear identity and a loyal following, so their decision to open at both Glasgow Fort and Teesside Park speaks volumes about the strength of our regional destinations and the opportunity they offer.

“As a well-established national retailer, Oliver Bonas adds real depth to our line-up and further strengthens our lifestyle proposition.

“Their move also highlights the continued strength of the retail park format, with brands increasingly recognising the benefits of these well-connected, high-performing destinations.

“We’re always looking at how we can reposition, reinvest and refine the mix of stores and activities at our retail parks to reflect how customers are actually spending their time and money.”
