Czech & Speake has announced that it is expanding the distribution of its No.88 Prince of Darkness Limited Edition through a new partnership with Selfridges Birmingham.

The tie-up marks the first time the fragrance, created in tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne, will be available in a physical store.

Previously sold exclusively through Czech & Speake’s website, the limited edition will launch at Selfridges Birmingham on 21 July and remain available until the end of August.

The launch comes ahead of the first anniversary of Osbourne’s death on 22 July and brings the fragrance to the Black Sabbath frontman’s hometown.

A dedicated No.88 Prince of Darkness podium will be installed on Level 2 alongside official Ozzy Osbourne merchandise. The fragrance will also be stocked on Level 3 in the department store’s recently expanded fragrance hall, which houses more than 65 prestige and niche brands.

The limited edition will also feature in Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery’s Ozzy Osbourne (1948–2025): Working Class Hero exhibition. It will be displayed alongside the musician’s awards, personal memorabilia and the throne used during his solo performance and Black Sabbath’s final concert.

No.88 became Osbourne’s signature fragrance after Sharon Osbourne discovered it at Czech & Speake’s Jermyn Street store. He continued wearing the scent for more than three decades.

Sharon Osbourne said: “I piled up some samples to take home to Ozzy, and I’ll never forget that as soon as he smelled it, he said to me, ‘I’d like to smell like this for the rest of my life!’ And he did.

“Everywhere he went, he was known for it. Everyone talked about it – his friends, his bandmates, his business colleagues, everyone – and they would always say how good he smelled.”

The Prince of Darkness edition is presented in a collector’s box with a black sleeve and purple foil detailing inspired by Black Sabbath.

Each bottle is priced at £250, with £50 from every sale donated to Cure Parkinson’s, a charity supported by the Osbourne family.

Czech & Speake managing director David Carter said: “We have always been thrilled to have Ozzy as such a loyal fan of our signature fragrance, No.88.

“The Osbournes’ support of our brand is very special to us and now, in turn, we are pleased to be able to pay tribute to Ozzy and support the wonderful work of Cure Parkinson’s, with this limited-edition bottle available on our website and now at Selfridges in Ozzy’s hometown.”

First launched in 1978, No.88 was Czech & Speake’s debut fragrance and remains its best-known scent. It combines bergamot with geranium, rose otto, cassie and frangipani, alongside base notes of vetiver and sandalwood.
