Value fashion retailers Peacocks and Bonmarché are opening six new concessions inside Co-op stores this month, taking the number of ‘store within a store’ locations operated by the two retailers to 20.
Peacocks will open four concessions in Cranleigh, Surrey; Machynlleth, Powys; Kippax, Leeds; and Whitby, North Yorkshire. The openings take the fashion brand’s total number of Co-op concessions to 13.
Bonmarché will add two stores in Lampeter, Ceredigion, and Shotts, North Lanarkshire, taking its total to seven. The openings follow four Bonmarché concessions launched inside Co-op stores earlier this year.
“We are delighted to grow our partnership with Peacocks and Bonmarché, and to work with them to unveil their latest in-store concessions,” said Co-op head of partnerships Kevin Buchan.
“Co-op is committed to backing high streets and communities, and we work to ensure our stores are more than just a shop. We aim to create a destination in communities combining great quality products, value and deals along with a compelling range of added services – all at the heart of local community life.
“Providing a home for Peacocks and Bonmarché inside the local Co-op enables them to bring their latest value fashion collections to more communities, at the same time providing a new store, employment opportunities and additional consumer choice, locally.”
The partnerships are part of Co-op’s strategy to add services and retail choice to its stores, while giving both fashion retailers access to new communities and local high streets.
The concessions are set to stock seasonal fashion, wardrobe staples, nightwear, accessories and footwear. Bonmarché’s ranges include collections from brand ambassadors Lisa Snowdon and Lorraine Kelly, as well as Dash and Autonomy, while Peacocks will feature collections from Dani Dyer, Louise Redknapp and Michael Owen.
Peacocks retail director Sharron Lamb said: “We’re so excited to open a further four Co-op concessions stores across the country, adding to the seven the new Peacocks stores we have opened this year, so far.
“With our new Autumn ranges, classic Christmas pjs and winter accessories available in-store now, shoppers can be sure to get everything they need to get ready for the new season at Peacocks.”
Bonmarché retail director Amanda Waterfield added: “We’re delighted to announce the opening of further Bonmarché concessions within Co-op stores in Lampeter and Shotts – following the successful launch of four branches inside Co-op stores earlier this year.
“This new ‘store in store’ concept allows us to showcase our full fashion offering, including our latest collections and exciting celebrity collaborations.
“We’re excited to become part of these new communities and offer customers stylish womenswear at exceptional value. This partnership also reflects our continued investment in the local high street, with over 225 Bonmarché stores across the UK, and we want to give a huge thank you to all the teams involved.”
