Digital retail platform N Brown Group has appointed Richard Price as an independent non-executive director, as it works to strengthen its leadership expertise amid its long-term growth plan.

Price has over 35 years of experience across the UK retail sector. He most recently served as managing director of clothing, home and beauty at M&S. He oversaw the transformation of the division, revitalised product propositions, and strengthened financial performance.

Price was chief executive officer at F&F Clothing. He has also held senior leadership positions at BHS and Next.

Price said: “N Brown has a distinctive position in UK retail, built on a deep understanding of its customers and brands that have served them for generations. There is a real opportunity to build on those strengths while continuing to evolve the proposition for how customers want to shop today.”

Price will succeed Ash Piranie as chair of the remuneration committee, following FCA approval.

Piranie will transition to the role of senior independent director, while retaining his position as chair of the audit and risk committee.

Additionally, Malcolm Le May who has served as chair since March 2026 has assumed the role of executive chair.

Responding to Prices’ appointment, Le May said: “Richard is an exceptional addition to the N Brown board. He has spent his career at the forefront of UK retail, with a proven ability to transform major businesses by sharpening their product proposition, strengthening commercial performance and navigating periods of significant change. That experience is highly relevant to N Brown as we continue the transformation of the business.”

The board restructuring follows the recent appointment of Zoe Matthews as managing director of retail.
