French beauty and wellness retailer Aroma-Zone has secured B Corp certification and become a purpose-driven company.

It achieved a B Corp score of 104.2 points, exceeding the 80-point threshold required for certification.

The assessment, administered by B Lab, evaluates businesses across five areas: governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

Alongside the certification, Aroma-Zone has adopted Société à Mission status under French law, embedding its purpose and four social and environmental objectives into its articles of association.

These commitments include reducing its environmental impact, strengthening ethical supplier relationships, supporting employee wellbeing and ‘providing accessible, high-quality products with greater transparency’.

The announcement follows a consultation process launched in 2025, which gathered feedback from employees, customers, business partners and local representatives in the French region of Vaucluse.

Aroma-Zone chief executive Sabrina Herlory said: “By becoming a Purpose-Driven Company and B Corp in 2026, we are affirming our desire to contribute to what we believe is most precious to preserve in society today: ‘Care’ and ‘Trust’.”

It said the certifications build on more than 25 years of initiatives focused on responsible sourcing, product safety and environmental protection.

These include reducing plastic packaging, improving the biodegradability of its formulations, supporting organic farming and developing a decarbonisation roadmap.

Aroma-Zone has also committed to publishing an annual Purpose Report outlining its progress against its sustainability and social objectives, alongside areas requiring further improvement.
