adidas and ASOS unveil Paris pop-up

ASOS and adidas Original’s have celebrated the launch of  their latest collaboration, Collection 05, with an exclusive four day pop-up at the adidas Champs-Élysées store.

The experience will run 16 to 19 October and follows the pair’s previous pop-up at adidas’ flagship store in Oxford Street. According to the retailers, the activation is one of the store’s most successful pop-ups, selling out of all the core styles.

The new collection will be available for ASOS.World loyalty members from October 15 and globally from October 16.

Collection 05 is inspired by “maximalist sports nostalgia” and the reinterprets the “confidence, attitude and expressive styling of the 80s through a contemporary fashion lens”.



It features peplum shapes, exaggerated proportions, oversized funnel necks and retro panelling, as well as half zips and full tracksuits, which nod towards adidas’ heritage. Prints include check and muted animal print.

Leather, sheened nylon and satin can also be found in the collection, bringing “depth, glamour and contrast”.  The collection uses a palette of black, deep brown, neutrals and rust. with blue, yellow and orange accents.

Core products include the cut and sew overhead track jacket in rust, the embellished check track jacket in brown co-ord, and the tailored track jacket in grey marl co-ord.

Vanessa Spence, executive vice president, brand and creative at ASOS, said: “For Collection 05, we wanted to give people the confidence to be bolder with sportswear. We’ve pushed the contrast between sport and glamour through exaggerated proportions, rich textures and unexpected details, creating pieces with attitude that everyone can style and make their own.”

In a recent exclusive interview with Retail Gazette, Spence explained how the etailer is working to make fashion feel easier, more personal and more inspiring.
