Superdrug expands digital beauty services with online bookings rollout

EcommerceIn-StoreNews

Superdrug has introduced online appointment booking for its in-store Beauty Studios.

It has rolled out the service across 72 stores, with plans to expand online bookings to more than 200 locations by the end of October.

Customers can now secure appointments before visiting a branch for treatments spanning nails, brows, lashes and hair, rather than relying on walk-in availability or booking directly with a store.

Services available to book include gel polish and Builder Gel manicures, nail extensions and pedicures, alongside brow shaping, tinting, waxing and threading.

Lash treatments include Korean lash lifts, tinting and express extensions, while customers can also book hair colour treatments, restyles and blow-dries. Piercing services will continue to operate on a walk-in basis.

Each appointment includes a consultation with a qualified member of the Beauty Studio team to help customers choose the appropriate treatment and finish.

Online booking is already available at stores including White City, Manchester Arndale, Cribbs Causeway, Merry Hill, Stratford, Cardiff St David’s and Edinburgh Princes Street.

Superdrug chief operating officer Simon Comins said the change would give shoppers “greater flexibility to plan their visit and secure an appointment at a time that works for them”.

He added that the service would bring Superdrug’s physical and digital operations closer together, making its Beauty Studio offer simpler to discover and use.

The move forms part of Superdrug’s wider ‘Offline plus Online’ strategy, which focuses on connecting its store estate with its digital channels.

It said the approach contributed to its performance last year, when sales rose 5.2 per cent and pre-tax profit increased 5.3 per cent to £144.1m. It also opened 22 stores and refurbished or extended another 45 during the year.

Superdrug has continued to invest heavily in its physical estate in 2026 and plans to open 30 new UK stores this year.

Last month, it reopened its revamped Merry Hill branch, now the largest store in its UK portfolio at 12,831sq ft. The location includes an aesthetics clinic and piercing studio alongside the retailer’s broader health and beauty offer.

Superdrug currently operates more than 400 Beauty Studio locations, offering professional treatments across its store estate.
