Sephora has announced details of its new Cardiff store, which marks its 11th shop in the UK.

The St David’s shopping centre store will open on 23 October, representing Sephora’s first site outside of England and the first to launch in Wales.

The beauty brand noted it also plans to launch an Oxford store before the end of the year.

Following a trial at its Manchester Arndale store opening in August, Sephora explained that its traditional “first in line” model on its store opening day was being replaced with a new beauty bonus card mechanic, designed to give more shoppers the chance to win prizes during opening weekend without needing to queue through the night.

Every customer who makes a purchase over the store’s opening weekend will receive a beauty bonus card, with the chance of winning a variety of on the spot prizes.

Sephora UK managing director Sarah Boyd said: “Opening our first UK store outside of England is a huge milestone for Sephora, and we’re incredibly excited to be coming to Cardiff.

“We know the Welsh beauty community have been patiently waiting for us, and we are very pleased share that we will be opening one our beautiful flagship stores this 23 October, in St David’s, Cardiff.”

Sephora opened its London flagship in Westfield in 2023, marking its first UK store.

The retailer returned to the UK after a 17 year absence, with the store opening resulting in seven-hour queues.
