Mothercare chief customer officer Andy Harding quits after just two months

The chief customer officer of Mothercare has quit the retailer after just two months in the role.

Andy Harding, who initially joined in July on an interim basis, will now take on a job outside retail as chief executive of stock photography firm Alamy.

His resignation comes just a day after Mothercare appointed Glyn Hughes as its new chief financial officer.

Harding previously held roles at BHS, Carphone Warehouse and Ryman before becoming the ecommerce director at House of Fraser as director in January 2011.

He remained at the department store until August last year, working his way up to become executive director of multichannel and then chief customer officer.

Mothercare hired him this year to help its turnaround strategy.

He joins Alamy on December 4.
