Former New Look CEO Anders Kristiansen to lead Esprit

New Look’s former chief executive Anders Kristiansen has been appointed to lead fashion brand Esprit.

After leaving the embattled New Look in September, Kristiansen is poised to take on the same position at Esprit from June 1, replacing acting chief executive José Manuel Martínez Gutiérrez who will step down.

Alongside Gutiérrez’s departure, independent non-executive chairman Raymond Or Ching Fai will take on the role of executive chairman from April 1.

He will reportedly play a key role in Esprit’s “very ambitious” plans for growth in China.

“Kristiansen is a well-rounded and seasoned executive in the fashion industry, with extensive experience in successful business development both in Europe and Asia, especially China,” Or Ching Fai said.

“As former CEO of New Look Retail Group, Kristiansen has a sound track record of leading complex growth and expansion projects.

“The board has every confidence that Kristiansen will successfully lead Esprit into the next phase of growth and look forward to working with him to achieve that goal.”
