The UK’s largest shopping centre Westfield London is back once again this year to host Europe’s biggest Eid Festival.
Now that the month of Ramadan has finished, Westfield, along with John Lewis & Partners and World Remit will be hosting the London Eid Festival from June 8-9.
The Islamic Holy month of Ramadan is celebrated by millions of people in the UK, and with the Ramadan economy worth over £400m in the UK alone, Westfield London is hoping to increase this by attracting an influx of tourists to the centre with the London Eid festival.
The festival will attract families from across the UK and Europe, with live entertainment on the main stage, food stalls and a cricket simulator sponsored by World Remit.
Many other activities will be taking place in the John Lewis & Partners store, including cookery demos with MasterChef winner Shelina Permalloo.
“We are looking forward to the return of the London Eid Festival at Westfield London this weekend, with a fantastic line-up of fashion, food and entertainment,” Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield chief marketing officer for Europe, Myf Ryan said.
The festival is organised and managed by Algebra Consulting which is also responsible for some of the world’s biggest Muslim Consumer events and platforms such as London Muslim Shopping Festival, London Halal Food Festival & Modest Fashion Live.
John Lewis & Partners White City head of branch, Ruth Scharvona said: “We’re really looking forward to being part of this year’s London Eid celebrations. There is always a great buzz around the shop in the run up to Eid and for the festival itself.
