Trouva has secured £17 million in a funding round with investors to help it expand its presence in mainland Europe.

The London-based online retailer launched in Berlin last year, but the new funding means it can finance its European expansion even further.

Trouva said its Berlin launch went well and now plan to ramp up its activities in the country with a dedicated German website.

The funding will also enable Trouva to debut in completely new markets as well as improve the technology on its online marketplace platform, and enhance delivery options.

Trouva was co-founded in 2015 by Alex Loizou, Mandeep Singh and Glen Walker.

Specialising in homewares, fashion and beauty, it has a curated approach to the marketplace concept and now works with 500 of independent across the UK.

Trouva said its latest funding round was led by Octopus Ventures, C4 Ventures and Downing Ventures, with BGF and LocalGlobe also taking part.
