Fashion retailer JD Williams has cancelled spring 2020 orders with some of its suppliers as the coronavirus crisis continues to affect the retail sector.

An N Brown spokeswoman told Drapers the retailer’s priority was ensuring it can serve customers while protecting the wellbeing of its employees amid the pandemic.

She added that in response to challenges arising from the coronavirus outbreak, JD Williams decided that in line with the retail sector in the UK, it would cancel orders for spring products with some of its suppliers.

The spokeswoman told Drapers that the retailer is working closely with its supply partners to navigate amid the uncertain times to ensure future.

JD Williams joins Primark, Urban Outfitters and Arcadia Group as the latest fashion retailer to cancel or delay orders due to Covid-19.
