John Lewis Partnership has appointed a former Lloyds Bank director as its new chief transformation and technology officer as it focuses on strengthening its transformation capability.
The retail group has hired Zak Mian for the role, marking its first executive level appointment focused solely on transformation and technology.
John Lewis said it expects to further strengthen the group with Mian as it delivers on its five-year Partnership Plan.

Mian will join office on 7 November and will take responsibility for all of John Lewis’ technology, change and transformation activity.
He has over 30 years’ experience of leading business transformation and technology teams, and was most recently the group transformation director at Lloyds Banking Group where he led the digital transformation of the bank.
“Mian brings a wealth of experience and an impressive background in business transformation and has a strong sense of purpose, which make him a great fit for the Partnership,” John Lewis Partnership chair, Sharon White said.
Mian said: “I’m really looking forward to helping shape an environment in which Partners can do their best work, enable the transformation of our business through technology and deliver great experiences for our customers.”
