Morrisons has slashed the prices of 820 items across food, drink and household products as it looks to support shoppers during the cost-of-living crisis.

The grocer has reduced prices on products including sirloin steaks, potatoes, pears and aubergines, which have been selected for the 20% (on average) price drops, and will run for a minimum of eight weeks.

Other items include sandwich fillers, sweet treats, shampoo and washing detergents.

As well as the retailer’s own-label products, big brands to have their prices cut include Patak’s, Yeo Valley and San Miguel.

The initiative comes after Morrisons slashed the price of 130 of its lowest-priced Savers products.

The grocer invested over £16 million to make these cuts as customers seek ways to save money throughout the January squeeze.

“Today’s cuts demonstrate our continued commitment to doing all we can to help when it comes to the cost of grocery shopping,” Morrisons chief executive David Potts said.

“In addition to the cuts we made to the Savers range at the start of the month and then our fuel promotion, we’re now cutting the price on even more popular products to help make a positive difference to the pockets of our customers.”
