All Paperchase stores are set to close for good within days as it as it enters the final stages of its closing down sale

In a customer email sent out on Monday, the stationery retailer said: “With just a few more days remaining until our stores close, stock up on all your stationery favourites while you can with up to 70% off everything.”

Paperchase is in the process of shuttering its 106 physical stores, resulting in 900 redundancies, as administrators failed to find a buyer for its physical assets following its collapse in February.

Tesco snapped up the retailer’s brand and IP in a pre-pack administration deal with plans to bring the brand in stores.

Paperchase’s demise followed a tumultous couple of years where it collapsed twice. It first filed a notice to appoint administrators back in January 2021.

The retailer was rescued in a pre-pack deal led by a lender connected to private equity firm Permira in 2021 and was bought by retail entrepreneur Steve Curtis, backed by Retail Realisation, last August.

However, late last year a ‘For Sale’ sign was once again hoisted above the stationery retailer.

The sale did not transpire, which led to its collapse in January this year.
