Joe Browns ‘delivers strongest year to date’ as sales soar

Joe Browns has delivered its strongest year to date in the 12 months to 30 June 2022 with sales and profit rising by 20.9% to £47.3 million and 7.8% at £4.2 million respectively.

Menswear sales at the fashion and lifestyle retailer climbed by 34.7%, as womenswear sales saw an increase of 18.4%.

Homeware sales also rose by 43.6% following a broadening of the category to include more garden products.

Looking back at the accounts for the year to mid-2022, the retailer said it was its “strongest year to date”, despite being “set against the well-documented backdrop of external economic pressures”.

The retailer recently revealed that it is searching for sites for ten new stores across the UK.

It is also planning to open its first franchise store and will complete a £2 million warehouse upgrade this summer.

Chief executive Peter Alecock who joined during the period as its first-ever boss said: “We are really pleased with both sales and profits to the year ending June 22.  It’s testament to the amazing team we have here at Joe Browns across every area of the business and I wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved.

“We expect the external trading environment to remain challenging.  As such creating stand-out, remarkable product has always been central to the Joe Browns business and this ethos has never been more important than today.”
