Lounge Underwear to open 8 stores in next 12 months

Lounge Underwear will open eight stores across the next 12 months as part of its ambitious expansion plans.

The lingerie retailer is set to make its permanent bricks-and-mortar debut at Westfield White City in September, which will be followed by six more locations across the UK and one in Germany, Drapers reported.

The stores -between 2,000 – 3,000sq ft- will be fitted with click-and-collect and home delivery capabilities for a service-led experience.

A small collection of products will be on display, and shoppers can request further sizes from store assistants.

The shops will stock lingerie, loungewear, nightwear and swimwear in sizes ranging from 30A/XS to 40G/3XL.

Lounge Underwear co-founder Daniel Marsden told the outlet that the retailer is targeting locations with “huge natural footfall”, such as shopping centres and high streets, to help build a “national presence” in the UK.

“We will still try to nail the major flagship in [international] countries we trade in, but it was important for us to make our brand accessible to as much of the [UK] as possible first.”

The retailer is also planning to open a store in Germany, which accounted for a third of its £68.5m sales in the 12 months to June 2023.

The move to permanent brick-and-mortar locations comes after a successful series of pop-ups late last year across the UK and Germany, including London’s Covent Garden, Manchester and Berlin.
