Primark to open five new Italian stores in €50m investment

Primark is investing over €50m in its Italian business, with the launch of five new stores across the country.

Sites will launch in the Italian cities of Turin, Livorno, Cosenza and Salerno, with the stores expected to open in 2024.

Following the launch of Primark’s initial Turin store in November 2022, the retailer is bringing a second store to the city, opening at the new To Dream shopping centre.

A further store is expected to open in Genoa in 2026, bringing the retailer’s total footprint across the country to 20.

The store openings will create 600 new retail jobs across Italy, raising Primark’s Italian workforce to more than 5,000 staff members.

The sites will be the first in Italy to feature self-service checkouts, according to the business.

The fashion retailer’s investment in Italy comes under its plans to expand across new and existing markets, with the aim of reaching 530 stores by 2026.
