Fashion brand Joules has named former Asos exec Katie Coates as its new director of buying and sourcing, Drapers reported.
Coates previously served as Asos interim director of responsible sourcing and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) from September 2023 to April 2025, after joining the company in January 2021 as its head of sourcing.
She worked as director of sales – Collective Apparel for clothes manufacturer CherryField from October 2018 to December 2022.
Additionally, Coates served as head of sales – Visage for supply chain firm Li & Fung from May 2015 to October 2018, and was a buyer for fashion giant Next from May 2002 to January 2008.
Posting on LinkedIn, Coates revealed that she had joined Joules at the end of January.
She said: “Bucket-load of new-girl energy after my first week as director of sourcing & buying at Joules.
“I’ve wrapped up week one already feeling very much part of the team and genuinely excited about what’s ahead.”
She added: “Huge thanks to everyone at Joules for making my first week so seamless and welcoming, I’m looking forward to getting properly stuck in.”
